Anti Atlas trek TAFRAOUT AND THE PARADISE VALLEY TREK 7 DAYS
TAFRAOUT DISCOVERY With its mountains of pink granite superbly lit at sunset, its fortified villages almost abandoned, its impressive gorges strewn with secret oases, its valleys covered with terraced crops with almond and argan trees, its secret and proud population, the preserved massif of the Anti-Atlas is an opportunity to trek off the beaten track.

DAY 1 - MARRAKECH - AGADIR - AÏT MOUSSA PALM GROVE. 375km. Pick up at 7am from your Hotel and head to Agadir via Highway, 2.5hrs drive to Agadir and we take a mountain road that rises slowly above Ait Melloul to cross the trays covered with argan Aït Baha. Passage through a succession of small typical villages. Start of the walk from the village of Aït Lhaj in the middle of the fields then a forest of argan trees, with a beautiful panoramic view of the palm grove of Aït Moussa. Lunch and Descent by a path in laces to reach the Camp. afternoon walk in the palm grove of Aït Moussa. 240m altitude, 5hrs Drive. 3hrs walk, Altitude difference: -390m Dinner and overnight at the Camp. DAY 2: THE GORGES AND PALMERAIE OF TARGA N'TOUCHKA Morning walk in the middle of cultivated fields and meetings with the inhabitants. We leave the palm grove by a path that dominates the valley. After an hour of climb, arrival at the village of Aït Moussa. Nice view over its wild gorges where are planted banana crops. We leave the gorges to cross the pass of Timzguida (520 m). A second climb then leads us to the village of Aghrighre, where you can see the typical architecture of the houses of the massif. Descent to a beautiful canyon for Lunch at the edge of the water, in the shade of palm trees. In the afternoon we continue along the gorges to the palm grove of Targa n'Touchka. Altitude 470m. 6hrs walk, Altitude difference: 660m / -400m Overnight at the camp with breathtaking views. DAY 3: THE VALLEY OF IMZI The day begins with a walk in the palm grove of Targa n'Touchka to discover its three sacred springs. In the local belief, each source has its virtues. One is known to cure kidney stones, the other skin problems. And at the last, the girls come to throw a pebble that must hit the rock |
above the source so that it gives her a chance to meet a husband. The exploration of the oasis will take you to meet the inhabitants. We will leave the palm grove to climb through a small canyon, where we will have a lunch break.
In the afternoon, we will cross a pass (730 m) before descending to the valley of Imzi, planted with almond trees. Homestay tea before joining our Camp near the village. 5 / 6Hours Walk - Elevations: 220m - Overnight at the camp. DAY 4: THE TAGDICHTE GORGES Walk in the heart of the wild gorges of Tagdichte, then climb a pass at 1300m altitude to descend on Inzguérne, a village clinging to the cliff with breathtaking views. Lunch by the river. In the afternoon, climb among the olive trees and argan trees to reach the Tizi n'Tlgout pass (1500 m) where the vehicle picks you up to take you to your camp at the foot of Jebel Lekst. 6 hours walk - Altitude difference: 1270m / -450m - Overnight at the camp with breathtaking views. DAY 5: DJEBEL LEKST A steady climb makes it possible to reach the Lekst Ridge at 2259m above sea level. The shepherds' trail is barely traced between green oaks, high meadows, rocky spurs. With luck, it may be possible to surprise some gazelles Cuvier still living in this massif. At the top, a splendid view of the High Atlas, Siroua, the Great South and Tafraoute. Long descent will take us to Anergui, where the vehicle will pick you up to go to Anamer. Camp at the foot of the date palms (1000 m). 5 / 6H of walking- Elevation: 760m / -1360m- Bivouac Overnight at the camp with breathtaking views. DAY 6: TAFRAOUTE Morning walk to reach Tafraoute and discover the village, and eventually buy the famous embroidered red babouchesn visitThe famous colorful Painted Rocks near the village ( by Belgian artist Jean Veran in 1984). Then we drive to the plain of Souss and Agadir. Check-in at your hotel . Free evening and free dinner. Walk 3H - 3H drive. Night at the Hotel 4* in Agadir. DAY 7 - AGADIR - Essaouira - Marrakech. After breakfast we drive along the Atlantic Coast Via Taghazout Town (the Best Surf Spot in Morocco) visit the town, and contunie through the coast Berber villages known by its suith Banane and Argan oil, arrive to Essaouira, Lunch with fresh fish at one of the restaurants next to the sea, afterwards short visit of the Historic site in the City, then drive to Marrakech. arrive to the Hotel around 6-7pm.
