ITINERARY:
Day 1: ARRIVE TO PÉÑISCOLA
Arrival at Péñiscola. Installation for 4 nights at the 4 * hotel located in the bay of Péñiscola. All rooms have a sea view. Welcome cocktail, dinner, evening entertainment, and overnight stay.
Day 2: MORELLA, PÉÑISCOLA AND THE CASTLE OF PAPA LUNA
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure towards Morella, city declared Historic-Artistic. Guided tour (with local guide) of the city: view of the outside of the 14th-century castle, a real fortress built on a rock, whose walls extend over a length of two and a half kilometers. They are flanked by 7 doors and 10 towers. The aqueduct, a beautiful Gothic construction, is a remarkable hydraulic structure that transported water in the Middle Ages for the population of Morella. The old fortified enclosure contains remarkable churches, including Santa María la Mayor in Gothic style. Entrance to the Basilica considered one of the most beautiful in the region. Inside, the Coro (choir), unique in the world, is raised on the four pillars of the central nave. The singular spiral staircase, the rood screen, the major altar, the three rosettes with stained glass windows from the 14th century Valencian School and the organ of Torull are some of its jewels. Continuation of the stroll in the historic center with its Town Hall from the 14th and 17th centuries, beautiful residences, the palace of Cardinal Ram and old noble houses like the Casa Piquer or the Casa del Consejo y Los Estudios from the 16th century. Lunch at the hotel. In the afternoon, guided tour (with local guide) of Péñiscola which has kept all its old flavor, with its stone streets and white houses. Entrance into one of the most visited monuments in Spain, the Castle of Papa Luna, built by the Templars at the beginning of the XIVth century, then modified by Benedict XIII, Pope scholar and great ecclesiastical jurist who used it as Pontifical seat during his exile. Discovery of the guardrooms and stables with beautiful barrel vaults. Around the Place, d'Armes are the church, a large vaulted room, and the so-called "conclave" room. From the terrace, panorama on Péñiscola and the coast. Return to the hotel for dinner, evening entertainment, and overnight stay.

Day 3: FREE DAY IN PÉÑISCOLA OR OPTIONAL EXCURSION TO VALENCIA
breakfast. Free day with full board at the hotel.
Optional excursion to Valence: 45 € (to be booked in the agency only). Guided tour (with local guide) of the city in full modernization thanks to the remarkable City of Arts and Sciences which places it at the forefront of contemporary architecture. Panoramic tour along the Turia to admire the succession of avant-garde white buildings reflected in large mirrors of water. Arrival in the historic center by the Towers of Serranos, one of the two gateways to the city in medieval times when it was surrounded by ramparts. These Gothic style twin towers were built in 1392, symbols of the city and one of the best-preserved historical monuments. Arrival in Plaza de la Reina and entry into the Cathedral of Saint Mary, dominated by the tower of Miguelete. Despite its main facade, a Baroque masterpiece, its construction dates from the 14th and 15th centuries. Its walls protect one of the treasures as precious as the Saint Chalice. The Valencia Grail is said to be the one used by Jesus during the Last Supper. Another gem of the cathedral is the Renaissance frescoes above the high altar. Then, the passage in front of the Lonja, in a flamboyant Gothic style, dominated by a tower and crowned with a crenelated ridge decorated with gargoyles. Continuation of the visit through the city and arrival at the central market built between 1910 and 1928, a jewel of modernist architecture. This vast structure of glass and metal is an extremely lively place in the morning with a profusion of fruits, vegetables, a good indication of the agricultural wealth of the "Huerta". Paella lunch at the restaurant. Discovery of the Town Hall and the Post Office building, buildings with baroque ornamentation. Continuation of the visit and free time.
Return to the hotel for dinner, evening entertainment, and overnight stay.

Day 4: BENICARLO, VILAFAMÉS AND THE TURRON
Breakfast. In the morning, the free discovery of Bénicarlo, a fishing port with a wide beach and a medieval center with fine examples of stately architecture and emblazoned houses. In the heart of the city, stands the Church of Sant Bertomeu, a Baroque temple with a beautiful stone facade with twisted columns. Return to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, guided tour (with local guide) of Vilafamés, located in the heart of centuries-old olive and almond fields and whose charm attracts many tourists. The village is enclosed in an enclosure of the XIVth century, and dominated by its castle of Arab origin with its round tower. Cave paintings from the 2nd millennium BC were discovered under the castle. Tasting of “Turron”, the Spanish nougat, then return to the hotel for dinner, a lively evening and an overnight stay.
