Marathon des Sables​

The Marathon des Sables is a mythical event. a challenge that every ultra runner must do at one time or another. Since 1986, date of the first edition this race has become more and more popular and there are now more than 800 participants per year, coming from thirty countries.
the runners crossing the Sahara desert in self-sufficiency on an ultra trail in 6 stages in southern Morocco, more than a race, it's an unforgettable adventure. Competitors must travel 250 km in 6 stages of 20 to 80 km, including a night stage and a marathon stage of 42 km. Each runner must carry his own food for the week of the race, only the water is carried by the organization. The Marathon des Sables is a tactical race where everyone must manage their diet and their water needs, in a desert where temperatures can reach up to 50 ° C. The program stretches over 11 days, the first 2 days are dedicated to the transfer by plane from Paris and to the administrative and medical checks, from the 3rd to the 8th day to the race and its 6 stages in self-sufficiency, the 9th day is a step "solidarity" in self-sufficiency, the 10th day is a free day in Ouarzazate and the 11th day return to Paris by plane. A unique adventure for the 800 participants who take part in the adventure every year.

The UTAT is set in a mountain environment of high altitude, through the Atlas Mountains valley and peaks.
