Review completed by Sue Russell, Expedition Leader of Central Yorkshire Scout Expedition Visit from 24th July to 9th August 2024 Group of 42 15- to 18-year-olds and 16 adult leaders From our first arrival at the camp in the walnut grove, we were amazed and impressed by the camp site. It had great facilities that made it easy for us to camp there including the following: sinks with hot running water, toilets and showers. The site had enough space for over 60 people with camping in Berber tents to suit our requirements. On the upper terrace were the toilet and shower facilities and the leaders' sleeping area including storage tent for equipment. On the middle terrace were the Berber tents for the young people and on the lower terrace was the restaurant area (under cover) with enough seating for over 60 people as required. The lower terrace also had a washing line and a seating and relaxing area plus a bread oven. The site is in a wonderful environment in the walnut grove with sufficient shade for the summer and in very close proximity to Imlil, the waterfalls and paths leading to Aroumd and beyond to Mount Toubkal. We enjoyed a few acclimatisation walks around the area and into Imlil to explore the shops. Read more |
